The project:

Green space management plans for North Somerset Parks

The challenge:

Development of sample management plans for parks;
Ensuring a methodology that could be rolled out for delivery by staff;
Development of GIS asset audit methodology.

JPC approach:

Close liaison with the Client to refine the brief;
Interviews with key staff to understand training needs;
Development of management plan methodology drawing on good practice (Green Flag, Cabe Space);
DeveIopment of bespoke GIS mapping toolkit for recording assets and features;
Training sessions for staff and follow up mentoring sessions.

Outcome:

Completed management plan for Prince Consort Gardens;
Production of management plan guidance and blank templates;
GIS mapping and toolkit available in ARCview and Mapinfo;
Training for all key staff;
